Producer Ba Ma Harish after joint production ‘Majestic’ in 2000 and ‘Shishya’ starring his relative Deepak as hero is bouncing back in a systematic way with ‘Magadi’.
As per the schedules ‘Magadi’ talkie portion shooting has been completed in Ullas Creations banner. Ba Ma Harish brother BM Divakar is the joint producer of this film.
This ‘Magadi’ is Suresh Goswami making debut as director after 12 years of stint as assistant and associate director. He is making a commercial flick and looking at the angle of orphans in the society. How they have to remain in this society without identification? When the orphans look for new path in life to progress how they are looked at, director Goswami is touching upon.
Rajesh Ramanath has scored the music and Ramesh is the cameraman for ‘Magadi’. Goswami has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues for this film.
Deepak, Rakshita, Ravi, Rangateja, Mahesh, Gopi, Lingenahalli Sureschandra, Jayasri, Krishna, Ramesh Pandit, Uyyale Shilpa, Mysore Mallesh are in the cast.

Roopesh Paul, the director of Sureshgopi-Padmapriya starer ‘My mother’s laptop’ is getting ready to start his next venture, which will be shot in 3D. Titled as ‘Saint Dracula’ the movie will be scripted by Roopesh Paul in the story lines of Indumenon.
The movie based on a plot about the life of a forensics expert from Kerala, will be produced in the banner of Cinema variate. Expected to get completed in a budget of 10 crores, ‘Saint Dracula’ will feature a lot of international names in its technical sides. The director is planning to kick off the shoots for the movie by the month of October.

Hansika Motwani, who is enjoying the success of ‘Kandireega’ was in the news as the media gossiped that she is playing the second fiddle in Maheshbabu’s next film ‘The Businessman’.
Kajal Agarwal, who is playing the heroine had kept high hopes on the film in a crazy combination of director Puri Jagannath and Maheshbabu.
Hansika, who perturbed with the gossips, tweeted like this: “Ok guys al those who are asking me ,that m i doing business man.. the answer to the question is no . im not doing business man rumors !”. She says she is against doing any film as second heroine, as she was getting good offers
after the success of ‘Kandireega’. However, she admits that she was playing in ‘O My Friend’ of Siddhartha as her character had lots of importance on par with the main heroine Shruti Haasan. Venu Sriram is directing the film while Dil Raju is the producer.

Ajith fans all over the globe are eagerly awaiting the release of the 50th film of their thala. The expectations on this film are sky rocketing, thanks to the sleek teasers as well as posters that have got out. Team ‘Mankatha’ is planning to release this film across the globe on the same day. ‘Mankatha’ will be released across the globe on August 31 with the national and international audience getting a good dose of Ajith and his team on the day of release, but looks like there might be a delay in Kerala.
Kollywood stars enjoy a very special place in the hearts of the Malayalam audience and are a rage in the neighboring land. Ajith is an icon to the people of Kerala. ‘Mankatha’ will hit theatres across Kerala only as late as September 9 reveal sources, and this delay is due to prior bookings and with the on coming Onam and Ramadan celebrations.
The theaters in God’s own country are believed to be booked to the hilt, with a large array of local films that will hit theatres during the Onam hols!
‘Mankatha’ sees Ajith with Trisha in the lead. A host of other stars in Arjun, Vaibhav, Lakshmi Rai, Anjali, Premgi, Mahat and Andrea will be seen in supporting roles.

Story
Mankatha is a racy and adrenaline-rushing story of a Maharshatra police officer Vinayak Mahadevan (Ajith) who is suspended for helping a smuggler to escape from police encounter. He starts leading life in his own way. He falls for Sanjana (Trisha), daughter of an influential local goon Arumuga Chettiyar (Jayaprakash) in Mumbai. A tough cop Prithvi (Arjun) takes charge to end betting scandal in IPL cricket in Mumbai. Arumuga uses his links with dons in Mumbai tries to route through his old theatre , a cash of over Rs 500 crore to be used in betting.
Sumanth (Vaibhav), a goon working for Arumuga Chettiyarplans to take away the booty with the help of his friends Ganesh (Ashwin), Mahanth (Mahanth), who owns a bar in Mumbai and Prem (Premji), a IIT graduate. Vinayak joins the race. he promises to help them and divide it between them. Trouble starts after they take away the acsh. Both Arumugha Chettiyar and police are now on their heels. Meanwhile, Mahanth and Prem escape with the cash. It all upto Vinayak now. The battle shifts between him and Prithvi.
Performance
Its Ajith all the way. He is simply amazing in the role of a dreaded baddie. With his usual looks sans makeup, he hogs all limelight. His one-liners brings laughter. Arjun does the role of a cop once more. But he is charming here. Trisha and Lakshmi Rai does play their part well. Andrea as Arjun’s wife and Anjali in the role of Vaibhav’s wife do minuscule roles.Vaibhav gets a meaty role and he utilise the opportunity. Premji did what he did in Goa and Chennai 28.
Technicalities
It is technically well-made. Sakthi Saravanan’s lens captures the stunts well. It forms the backbone of the movie. Yuvan Shankar’s tunes add variety to it. His open song Mankatha…is celebrated in theatres. Director Venkat Prabhu seems to have done his part well. He has laced thrills, spills and humour in right mix.
Analysis
Mankatha is boyish film. It is all racy and rivetting.The first half is light and simple. The game really begins in latter part. With Venkat Prabhu and Ajith giving their best, Mankatha rocks all time.

Janapriya Nayakan Dileep who is shooting for his Spanish Masala with director Laljose in Spain, will be back to Kerala on the eight of September, that is on the ThiruOnam day. The star who had five big hits in recent times, couldnt get any of his new films to theatres for this Onam. His much planned ‘Mr Marumakan’ could not be completed as his co star in the movie Khushboo suffered a leg injury and was advised rest for a month. But Dileep is planning to kick start the shoot of his another film directed by Akku Akbar, this season itself. Titled as ‘Ithano Karyam’, the actor is said to be much impressed by the plot lines of this family comedy that he wants the movie to get released as his offering for Christmas or for early months of January.
As per the current reports, the shooting for ‘Ithaano Karyam’ will start by the mid of September and the movie may well follow the league of Jayaram blockbuster Veruthe Oru Bharya, which was the biggest hit from the director.

This is a tolerable remake film and above the mediocre level because of the tight narration and guessing moments. The protagonist Prajwal, dynamic prince of Kannada cinema has got a good scope to exhibit his skill. He should select this kind of screenplay oriented films in his career to keep going like his father Dynamic hero Devaraj, who is almost three decades old in Kannada filmdom. What was seen by Telugu audience in 2006, Kannada audiences are seeing in 2011, August 12 in Karnataka – Telugu Ranam of Gopichand is Kannada Bhadra starring Prajwal Devaraj.
Director Mahesh Rao has not only played it up with interesting and intriguing screenplay but also with Shanker Billamane dialogues the film turns out be interesting. The usage of ‘Mandya’ the land from where Ambarish hails and the power of people from such people are effectively used.
Prajwal Devaraj many shades, Sampath stunning looks, Daisy Shah the major bottleneck of the film, ‘Bhadra’ is also good for the family audience.
Bhadra (Prajwal Devaraj) is a happy go lucky youngster. His intelligence fools the inspector of his native place. That also becomes very costly for Bhadra. His father asks him to move to city for studies. Joining college Bhadra is strong enough to protect him. He becomes the darling of his college campus soon. When he turns as approver for one of the killings in the streets and falls in love with Kavya (Daisy Shan) sister of cruel don of city – the problems prevail on his head.
Bhadra is asked to leave city after a furious attack on him by Naga brother of Kavya. Bhadra takes it as an insult and like any other hero on Indian screen he with stand the opposition. In the climax Bhadra asks Naga to put him down. Naga is given sharp edge weapon by Bhadra. The three chances Naga fail to make use. Bhadra indicate that love and affection is important and not rowdy activity.
Prajwal struggled hard in the action scenes but his naughty nature on screen and romantic moments are attractive. He is good in dialogue delivery too. Daisy Shah is not a match for Prajwal. She looks older than Prajwal on screen. Mico Nagaraj, Sampath give a good support.
Sri Guru is a promising music director. Whether he has copied the original tunes from Ranam Telugu remake or not is not known. Yet three are peppy tunes. The choreography is pleasant. The cinematography Jai Anand is high in standards. It is only at one place there is jerk but it is a competent job from the young cameraman.
Producer MN Kumar coming back to production after six years has picked the right one to entertain the film buffs.

In the age of stiff competition and speedy generation the snail pace films with lackluster approach is seen in ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’. Only Rama and Krishna should save this kind of movies in the box office.
The most disgusting point is that why a young actor with wonderful family background Srimurali has made a selection of this subject and particularly the narration style. He is in the ‘do or die’ situation in box office. More effort is what wanted for this film to at least reach the safe level.
The aspirant for an officer job in the government office Anand (Srimurali) faces uphill task. The main reason for this is that he is not able to adjust bribe money although he is on merit. Anand father (played by Siddaraj Kalyankar) finds some way through a middleman. That becomes a distressing factor for Anand. Anand goes begging with the middleman who is in a bar. He is locked in the murders for which he is not concerned. Quite often he is taken to police station. In the colony where he lives he becomes very cheap. Anand does not end his life but try to end the menace causing worries for people like him. He earns the position of a don by creating terror. In the climax Anand is beaten to death and even his family members face the same brunt.
Srimurali should accept a role that suits his nature and looks. He is unfit for action hero. No one can imagine him as a don. The clever screenplay is what he should first look for his career growth if he is interested.
Pooja Gandhi is another misfit actress for this film. What prompts this actress to accept this kind of role no one knows? Roopasri in a small role freaks out with right anger.
This is the film with music maestro Ilayaraja and Hamsalekha lyrics. Not even one song is worth humming again. Maestro has lost his touch of melody.
PHK Doss camera work is not having anything to boast.
