Aakasame Haddu movie stills, Review, trailor, cast & crew, wallpaper

Cast: Navadeep, Rajiv Saluri, Panchibora, Nasar, Rao Ramesh, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Suman Shetty, Chinni Kiran, Sashi, Shnishika, Uday, Sindhu Affan, RadhaKrishna, Murali Krishna and Giridhar
Direction: Ravicharan Meripo

Director Ravicharan Meripo seems to try something novel in Akasame Haddu by mixing the usual ingredients of love, comedy and sentiment with a dose of message. As for whether he succeeds in his attempt, one can only give an arguable answer. Well, what the writers have detailed on the paper seems to have been translated on the celluloid satisfactorily, but then in the absence of an emotional core, which Akasame Haddu doesn’t sustain through the length of the movie, and with a lot of routine props, the film doesn’t impress you much.
To begin with, Akasame Haddu kicks off on an interesting note. It opens with Narayana (Rajiv Saluri in a sober act) wallowing in a sense of loss, with a tragedy song playing in the background. It is clear to the audience that he is a failed lover, who is devastated and dejected. It doesn’t take the director two minutes of screen time to place him in a bar, where he mixes poison in a glass of wine, wanting to commit suicide. The proceedings become even more exciting when Karthik (Navdeep) stops him from killing himself and asks him how he can help him sail through the difficulty.
Narayana takes him through his story, which is peppered with some routine scenes, but enlivened by some good lines. He is a brilliant student when it comes to studies, he has a doting father and a loving mother and has got a goal in life. He is all set to become the University topper in Engineering. It is when he sees Keerthi (Panchi Bora) and soon realizes that he loves her. On her part, Keerthi turns down Narayana’s overtures. Convinced that she is not going to love him any time soon, he decided to die.
Karthik offers to help him woo the girl. Some simple plans work for Narayana. A couple of scenes later, Keerthi and him share some light moments over a cup of coffee. However, does this friendship blossom into love between them?
Least does Nayarayana know that there is more to what meets the eye. He is back on the track, is doing good at studies again, has written his exams well and is expecting to pass out with flying colours in the final exams, but he will have a shock of his life.
Some years back, Karthik too, much like Narayana whom he now considers as his brother, was doing brilliant in studies, prodded by a doting father and a loving mother and had a goal in life. How are the lives of the two guys related? Where and how do their stories intersect? Answers to these questions form the anti-climax block of the movie.
Unfortunately, the film’s novelty has been failed because the director doesn’t make an attempt to enrich it by keeping his film on a higher trajectory. You feel that Karthik’s character doesn’t behave consistently. When he gives up on his agenda (watch the film to know what it is) at the pre-climax stage, it seems premature. Also, Panchi Bora’s involvement in the story seems incidental, rather than instrumental.
As for the performances, Rajiv Saluri looks uniformly glum and morose throughout the film. His acting prowess is not fleshed out and he looks homogenous. Navdeep is at ease with his role, but he is monotonous. On her part, Panchi looks good look-wise but ordinary performance-wise.
The best aspect is the dialogues by JN Reddy which are well-written. Two songs are up-to-the-mark and the background score is appropriate.
On a final note, it should be said that with a more intelligent take, Akasame Haddu would have connected better with the audience.

Gambler movie stills, Trailer ,reviews, wallpaper, cast & crew, news

Cast: Ajith Kumar, Trisha, lakshmi rai
Director: Venkat Prabhu
Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Producer: Bellamkonda Ganesh Babu, Bellamkonda Suresh
Banner: Multidimension Entertainments PVT. LTD, Sri Sai Ganesh Productions

Tamil superstar Ajith kumar’s 50th film Mankatha had been dubbed in to Telugu and ajith is back to entertain Tollywood audience as gambler. Movie bagged record openings in Tamil and scored good marks. Let’s see how it works here

Betting money, wily cops, underworld, greedy sidekicks, principal characters without a sense of scruples. Add a dose of booze, a hero who oozes menace and avarice at almost every turn, not to forget a terrific twist at the end, the plot becomes irresistible. Only Telugu nativity is missing. Never mind, if you can make with the handsome Ajith who comes with a smart performance and the slick cinematography that draws from Vishal Bharadwaj’s vision, you will certainly find Gambler entertaining.
Gambler, the dubbed version of Mankatha, is purely a male-dominated story in which money and murder are the focal points. All the characters, including the hero, are suborned to the greed of moolah. In this cat and mouse game, anybody could meet his nemesis next. Everybody lives on the edge, almost and always. So much so, the next one to die could even be Vinayak Mahadev (Ajith), who calls himself ‘The Kingmaker.’
Vinayak is a suspended cop who befriends Sanjana (Trisha), the daughter of Sambasiva Reddy (Jayaprakash). Reddy makes money through shady deals and has got big plans to loot Rs. 500 cr. of betting money which is to be pooled at a theatre owned by him, so that he can share the booty with a gang of crooks in the mafia.
If there is big fortune around, can connivery and crime be far behind? As expected, some players have their firm sight on the moolah. Least does Reddy realise that it is, however, Sumanth (Vaibhav), who he has nurtured for years, who is conniving to stab from the back and run away with the money with his friends Mahanth, Ganesh (Ashwin) and Prem (Premji Amaran).
The curtain for race and chase game begins when Vinayak enters the fray with his own evil designs. Before it is interval bang, the gang of five (Sumanth, Mahanth, Ganesh and Prem have been joined by Vinayak, who offers them the benefit of working as a team) successfully pillages the haul. In the game that follows, Vinayak occupies the centre stage while rest of them taper off as insignificant stuff, but not before threatening to undermine the Project Money of the black sheep, Vinayak.
The second half is an all-out Ajith bonanza. His character mutates from a cigar-smoking evil planner to a ruthless and psychic robber after the money, displaying devil-may-care attitude and even meanness. It is not rare for a Tamil hero to play a character with negative shades, but Ajith goes a step ahead by spouting baneful lines.
Yet the film is also Venkat Prabhu’s to a good extent. His taking is slick, though the screenplay could have been better. Cinematography (Sakthi Saravanan) is top notch and action is nifty.
As for the performances, Ajith tops the chart with his pefectionism while his four chohorts fit the bill. Vaibhav looks good as a raw youth and the director has done well by fleshing out his role in the first half-an-hour by making him romance his wife. Trisha and Lakshmi Rai have only peripheral roles to play in this male-oriented film.
Yuvan Shankar Raja doesn’t come up with hummable scores, but the background music is A-1.
All in all, Gambler is watchable for Ajith, visuals and action sequences. It may lack the sensibility of a typical Tamil movie, but its raison d’ etre lies in playing to the gallery.

Daggaraga Dooramgaa movie stills, preview, trailer, video, cast & crew

Cast: Sumanth, Vedhika, Brahmanandam, Krishna Bagavan, Melkote and others
Direction: Ravi Chavali

You must have heard a friend or a relative say that people must be given a chance to lynch terrorists to death on the roads of our cities so that men of their tribe are taught a fitting lesson. This radical middle-class view that doesn’t care for the niceties of the rule of law forms the denouement of Daggaraga Dooramga, a most inappropriately titled film. Remember A Wednesday? This film graduates to the next level. Daggaraga.. is about mob justice at the end.
No, don’t think that the movie is an intense drama like the aforementioned Bollywood film. Far from being intense, it not even earnest. It looks as if the director conjured up a hybrid story by combing one full-fledged second class love story with another half-baked terrorist story to keep the audience glued to their seats. Poor Chavali Ravikumar ends up cooking up a story that never connects with the lovers of either pop corn films or terrorist flicks.
Gowtham (Sumanth) is a creative ad director who pontificates others to ‘think different’ but all he is good at doing is morph a new face by cutting the eyes from the image of one girl and the nose from another and so on. (Like our director?) The produced image turns out to be quite beautiful and the face is used by a cosmetics maker as the model. However, she looks exactly identical to Meenakshi (Vedika). Her life takes an unexpected turn when her engagement with a guy is put off after the groom’s parents spot the image of the fictitious model in semi-nude form is used by a beer-maker. She decides to teach the ad company that created the model a lesson and comes to Hyderabad.
As fate would have it, she ends up in a soup along with Gowtham when a piece of Zarina’s (Sindhu Tholani) journalistic adventure – a DVD with footage of terrorists’ plans – falls into her hands. Gowtham and Meenakshi are arrested and are branded terrorists. The rest of the film is all about how they escape police custody and come out unscathed from the hunting terrorists out to kill them. Have these got anything to do with the first part of the film.
If the intention of the director was to make Gowtham and Meenakshi meet to take the story forward, why did he take the entire first half to make them cross their paths? Where does it help the film, especially when the second half happens to be more about their adventurous escape and how the hero defeats the evil designs of jehadis?
Also, what kind of a creative director would not have the common sense to first see what is on the DVD after which are a band of terrorists and think of calling up the police and offer to appear before them along with the DVD to prove their innocence?
As for the performances, Sumanth is routine. There is nothing to write about others. Raghu Kunche lives up to the expectations and the title track is hummable. ‘Think Different’ is good but it is affected by the visuals. He should work on bettering himself film after film. Dialogues lack punch.
Post Script: Here is our title justification. The film is nearer to the many run-of-the-mill films where a Manmadha Rao lusts models, a sidekick disguises as a model to fool the lecher, and one too many such ridiculous things are played out. And, yes, it is farther from offering anything interesting.

Cast: Rajkumar, Aiswarya, Rakul Preet Singh, Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao, Pradeep, Alok, Yatiraj, Amit, Robo Ganesh, Suman, Venumadhav, Srinath, Suman, Kavita, Yamuna and others

Direction:
Gautham Patnaik Yet another boy from Rebel Star Krishnamraju’s family made debut as hero in Tollywood. While Krishnamraju’s nephew Siddharth Rajkumar made his entry as hero, Aiswarya and Rakul Preet Singh made their entry as heroines, while director Gautham Patnaik, brother of RP Patnaik, wielded the megaphone for the first time. Let us see how these first timers fared in this film based on teenage love story in its backdrop.

Siddhu (Siddharth Rajkumar) has four friends and all of them study together in a school. There are three girls, who join the gang and all of them move very friendly with each other. All these friends complete their plus two and join the college. When they shed the school uniform, they understand that they grew up. Siddhu develops intimacy with Geetha and thinks he is in love with her. His friends too encourage him. At this juncture, a called Robo teases Geeta and Siddhu challenges him and defeats him in a bike race. This further bonds the friendship between Siddhu and Gita. To take revenge for his defeat, Robo tries to molest one of the girls in their group in the college lab. This forces the friends to attack him and thrash him. During the police enquiry, the friends confess that Sidhu had a tiff with Robo because he is in love with Gita. The police warn him not to indulge in fights and concentrate on his career. Sidhus friends desert him as he refuses to ignore Geetha. Even Gita bows to her father. Siddhu wail inconsolably till he comes across another pretty girl called Sangeeta. He plays all the tricks to win her love and she remains friendly with him. Did Sidhu win the love of Sangeeta? Did he realise that the teenage attraction is not love but only infatuation. What kind of lesson did Siddhu learn in his life? What happened to his friends? Answers to all these questions form part of the climax.

Hardly there are any interesting points in the film, but for the message in the end that teenagers should concentrate on studies and career instead of becoming slaves to infatuation. The film lacked comedy and the entertainment values are very less. Though Venumadhav tried to tickle the funny bone of audiences the poor running of the film erases the pleasure of enjoying the comedy in a whiff. When it comes to performance, Siddhartha Rajkumar had a bubbly face and tried his best to perform. But being a novice, he could not show the expressions fairly. Though looking pretty, Aishwarya and Rakul Preet Singh did not get any chance to perform. In fact, one had to blame the director for failing to extract the talents in the artistes. The director failed to give good characterisation to any of the artistes. He could not highlight the glamour of the heroines.

The artiste who played the role of Robo looked a bit promising for comedy villain roles. Senior artistes like Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao, Kavita, Yamini and others did justice to their roles.

Cinematography by A Venkatesh is good in parts and the inconsistency in lighting turned a drawback. Editing by Suresh Urs is far way behind. Music by Joshua Sridhar is not that impressive and the re-recording failed to elevate scenes. The director of the film Gautham Patnaik failed to pen a good script, screenplay and dialogues. The storyline taken by the director is good but while trying to explain on the screen as to how the youth are spoiling their career in the name of love, he made several mistakes.
