Since the time the trailer was out, I was like Bad Teacher is going to be wicked. Cameron Diaz is one of my favorites and Jason Segel is one actor I adore so much in comedy and that too a romantic comedy. And then the cast had amazing actors like Justin Timberlake, Lucy Punch who are soon becoming the actors who have got their comic timings right. So the cast was good, the plot that I read was wicked too, a school teacher going to any extent to woo a substitute and also get a pair of tits. I was like, yeah this the comedy that will make me laugh outright. So when I went to see Bad Teacher I had expectations and they were very simple expectations. If the movie made me laugh throughout the 92 minutes, my money is worth. And what happened when I saw the movie, well read the full review below to know what is in store for you in Bad teacher and is the money that you put into watch this movie worth or not.
So the above statement did not make any sense, well the movie made a little less sense than the above statement. Yes the movie makes no sense sometimes and still makes you laugh when it makes no sense, and when the movie starts making some sense the laughs are gone. I don’t know why is the movie R-rated, maybe the way kids are treated in the movie, but except the some cuss words and a school teacher wanting a pair of tits to impress a rich substitute teacher there is nothing that was like an R-rated movie.
But now moving away from what was there and not there, let me talk about the plot first:
The story basically follows the life of a mid-aged woman named Elizabeth Halsey (Diaz) who is shown as this woman who basically has lived her life with men who have taken care of. She now is with a man who is going to marry her and now Elizabeth can quit her job which she hates to the core and settle down with her rich boyfriend. But something screws up and the boy dumps her and now Elizabeth is forced to come back to the school and teach.
Now she again is on the hunt for her rich man, who will take care of her expenses and everything else. And during this she harasses kids and she makes them watch some video and she dozes off. She is one of the sexiest teachers one could have but she is also one of the cruelest teachers one can have. And now she comes across this cute substitute teacher Scott Delacorte played by Justin Timberlake who is very rich and he recently had a break-up too and the girl he was dating had a large heart. Now by heart I am talking superficially. So now Elizabeth gets an idea to save money and get a pair of tits so that she can impress Scott Delacorte and then he will take care of her.
So now when she has cracked this plan, she does not have the resources to get the surgery done so now she comes across this best class thing, where the best performing teacher will be rewarded a handsome sum of money. But the biggest thorn in this lovely story is Amy Squireely played by Lucy Punch and she is the best teacher sine years and she acts in this weird normal teacher way. She is sincere and over-dedicated towards her work. So winning against her is a big task, so Elizabeth goes her way and gets the ball rolling.
