After the raids that had the superstar tense, running after officers, Mammootty will be back to camera with the new movie ‘Venicile Vyaapari’. This new humorous entertainer by Shafi, will start its shoot by the first week of August and Mammotty will be joining the film by the 3rd of August. Produced by the Mammootty loyalist Madhavan Nair of Murali films, the movie will be scripted by James Albert and will feature the megastar doing the role of a coir vendor. Kavya Madhavan and Poonam Bajwa are his heroines of the movie which will also have the best comic stars of Malayalam, including Salimkumar, Jagathy Sreekuamr and Suraj venjaaramoodu. ‘Venicile Vyapari’ is slated to reach the theatres by the 3rd of November.

After creating a bunch of continuous hits in 'Marykkundoru Kunjadu' and 'Makeupman', hit maker Shafi  will team up with Mammootty for the new movie tentatively titled as 'Venicile Vyaapari. Another humorous flick in regular Shafi style, the movie will have Mammotty as a merchant based on Alappuzha,which is also called as Venice of the East. 'Classmates' fame James Albert is the scriptwriter of the movie, which will be on sets in a couple of months.

Meanwhile, Mammootty will have a release tomorrow in 'Doubles' which will make it to around 100 centres as a Vishu offering.

‘Dr.Love’ is a movie primarily aimed at the youth .An interesting plot loosely inspired from the Tamil flick ‘Shahjahan’, this debut attempt from director K Biju is a feel-good film and though it has its share of loose ends, the outcome leaves you feeling pleased than many of the recent entertainers.

The movie has Kunchakko Boban as Vinayachandran, a struggling young writer, who is trying different ways to make a living. He has a friend in Gowry(Ananya), who is a staff in the local telephone booth. Mainly threading his plots for novels around love, Vinayachandran accidentally happens to meet Sathya Sheelan(Innocent), the P E Teacher of a college, who comes for advice to somehow fulfil his love for a fellow teacher in the college. And for that Sathyasheelan finds ways to post Vinayan as a supplier in the college canteen. Once inside the college, Vinayan instantly strikes a chord with the students helping some to reward with their first love. Instantly rechristened as ‘Dr. Love- the Romance Consultant’, he starts to deals with people who are affected with love and becomes the last word for youngsters in the college struck by Cupid’s arrow and those who have a problem with their love affairs. The after-effects of his so-called ‘guidance’ and the consultant’s own love story is what that takes the story forward.
K Biju in his debut screenwriting relies on the tested formula, but packs in a lot of unpredictable situations that has been smartly woven in the screenplay to make it more exciting. The movie with a unrealistic, sometimes unconvincing plot lines, is interspersed with light moments aplenty and much of them have been handled deftly. Things are smooth sailing till the emotional angle comes up, where the narrative dips a little, but the experience as an assistant to many big names of Mollywood helps Biju to manage the climax with out much chaos. Dialogues deserve special mention, as the youth are sure to identify with them!
The performances are topnotch. Kunchakko Boban seems to be riding in the best of the times in his career and here he gets ample scope to display his potential as an actor and he takes full advantage of the opportunity. Bhavana just manages to play to he demands of her Ebin, a tomboyish character who is the de facto leader of a group of friends in the college. Bhagath and Hemant are lovable while Manikuttan springs a pleasant surprise with his witty one-liners.! Ananya in another good role is completely natural with a fine performance. All others in the cast including Salimkumar, Vidhya Unni, Rejith menon and Kalabhavan Shajon come up with right performances to suit the demands of the roles they are on.
Debutante Vinu Thomas’s music is more than okay with a mix of good and melodious numbers, but those that stand out are the title track ‘palapoo’, ‘Aakasham doore’ and ‘Ninnodenikkulla’ for their honey-sweet tunes. Cinematography by Shaji is eye-catching and the beautiful ambiance of SB College are utilized to the maximum to give that colourful, chic look of the campus flick.
All in all,’ Dr.Love’ has some interesting moments and the ensemble star cast pitches in real performances too. On the whole, the movie could’ be an ideal popcorn flick targeted to strike a chord with the youth and those who relish candy floss and madcap entertainers. If you are not looking for wisdom and rationale in a light-hearted entertainer, We are sure you will savour this campus carnival .

Sources in Kollywood say that the date to commence Rana has finally been set! The film will go on floors on October 3rd at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. A grand set is being erected for the purpose, we are told. While one set is that of a huge palace, the other one is that of a ship. The shooting will go on continuously for 100 days with adequate intervals for Rajinikanth, because of his health conditions. Director KS Ravi Kumar also intends to include risky fight sequences through computer graphics, despite Rajini’s willingness to do it himself.
Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Ganja Karuppu and others will be joining the Rana camp at the Ramoji Film City.

A massive Kalyana Mantap – Nithyotsava Kalyana Mantapa on Doddaballapur road was the rendezvous for ‘Godfather’ action and marriage portion shooting for producer K Manju in the direction of S Sriram.
It was eight plans for climax shoot with super star Upendra, Soundaraya, Catherine, Sudha Belwadi and scores of others at the Kalyana Mantapa and surrounding to this place is the action portions meant for action director Pambal Ravi.
For the eight days climax with nearly 1500 persons working for requires Rs.50 lakh plus says producer K Manju. We have shot in Bengaluru, Mysore and now the shoot is in progress at Doddaballapur. We will be moving to Madikeri and Switzerland for remaining portions of the shoot says K Manju.
The Kalyana Mantapa that can accommodate nearly 2000 people is owned by Nagaraj Reddy. According to producer Manju ‘Godfather’ a remake of ‘Varalaru’ Tamil film is the expensive film in the career of superstar Upendra.

We all know the tribute Vidya Balan is playing to yesteryear heartthrob Silk Smitha, through her forthcoming Hindi film, ‘The Dirty Picture’. The film is a biopic on the life of our very own former sex-siren, Silk Smitha and the film is being directed by Milan Luthria.

During the shoot, Vidya Balan had worn a red dress for an outdoor shoot at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, but this seems to have invited unwanted attention, and from whom? Two stray bulls!

Two stray bulls entered the sets and had the unit, including Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor, in splits who found it funny, but only until the bulls made a dash towards Vidya Balan, doubtlessly attracted by her bright red dress. Few of the local production guys intervened and shooed away the excited animals from the set.

The film is touted to hit the screens all over the country this November.

Make way for another biggie, yes an official announcement has been made on the project for which Gautham Vasudev Menon and Ilayathalapathy Vijay are teaming up. Those who saw few of the leading newspapers would have definitely caught a glimpse of this film’s advertisement.
Titled ‘Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru’, the film will see Vijay essaying protagonist, direction by Gautham Menon and production by the latter’s banner, Photon Kathaas. This film is said to be a sci-fi thriller and boasts off a huge budget. The film will cater to Vijay’s mass fans with Gautham perfect packaging.
However, the project will go on floors only in 2012, thanks to prior commitments of both Vijay and Gautham. “Other details related to the project are being worked out. Things will be made official soon”, sources say.
AR Rahman is expected to compose music for ‘Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru’, which will be shot in foreign locales, including Gautham’s favourite country, the United States. A top actress may be roped in to play the heroine.
Even before the film has gone on floors, a few sources say that the film will be a series and the name of the film is what that seems to have added to this buzz. Vijay is believed to play a secret agent in this film and we can see his super smart self in the film’s poster.

Hero commits suicide ... latest film news

Ajay committed suicide at his residence in Bengaluru. The actor was supposed to make his acting debut with Ambuli and film is almost ready with the post-production works going on. The young actor, sources say, was in love with Sanam, who will also be making her acting debut with the same film, but the actress was not interested. The besotted Ajay took his life due to Sanam’s refusal, it is said. Ambuli is a 3D film directed by Harish Narayanan and Hari Shankar.
The film’s directors say that they are not aware if Ajay was in love with Sanam or not.
