Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 Review, movie stills, cast & crew

There is nothing much to review here, actually. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2 is the second and last part of the Harry Potter franchise, and we are at the sequence where Harry, Ron and Hermione have to look for the Horcruxes, so that they can put an end to Voldemort for once and for all.

The plot is very loyal to the actual movie, and it does not add anything to the storyline that the Harry Potter readers have read in the books – which is great, because the Harry Potter fans are so rabidly loyal to the books that any addition or deletion to the storyline would have come up with such a negative impact that the Internet would shut down in some countries or something.
Even so, it is a fact that even the greatest screenplay writers and directors would find it difficult to put up the book in one, or even two movies.  There are several story arcs in the movie that the lay viewer may feel were not taken into complete consideration.

The direction is slick, and the camera work succeeds in capturing the emotion and soul of the Harryverse. Once again, Voldemort is showed in stark, dark sequences, whereas Harry Potter is sometimes shown in brighter color shades. Also interesting to note is the brutality of war that is shown in the movie at a very subtle level. All the characters are dirtied, bruised and have scratches and blushes all over their body. The other part to take into consideration is the set direction and the graphics.

As a person who has played many MMORPGs, and someone who rarely chose the magician character – I am not a metrosexual, I think that being a magician is still a very feminine job – I always used to wonder how they would add the machismo in the wands, and they have won me over at the very first Harry Potter movie. Though the action sequences with the wands are a blur – something too quick for an untrained eye – the rest of the graphics are almost at the Lord of the Rings level.

After more than a decade of the same people playing the same character, there is not much to speak in this category too. All of the individuals are at the top of their game. Like every war movie – believe me, this is a war movie – each of the characters has very less screen time, but they make the most of it.
