Shooting of ‘Rachcha’ directed by Sampath Nandi and produced by NV Prasad and Paras Jain on the banner of Mega Super Good Films with Mega Power Star Ram Charan Teja in the lead role is presently in progress at Bangkok.
It is learnt that the unit will stay there till August 15 to can certain action episodes. In a post on Twitter, Ram Charan tweeted, ‘starting my first fight in racha tomo. I was told there r mind blowing stunts I’ll be doin. Can’t wait to shoot and hope I don’t get blowed.’
After the Bangkok schedule, the film unit will leave for China to take up next schedule. Tamanna is the female lead in the movie. Presented by RB Choudary, the film has music from Mani Sharma. The producers are of the opinion to release the movie by the end of this year.

Fresh from her first state award in Telugu, bubbly actress Nithya menon will sign the new Malayalam movie “Thatsamayam Penkutty”. This new movie from T K Rajeevkumar is said to offer her a women centric role in the backdrop of reality shows. Nithya will be appearing as a TV Channel reporter in this movie which is expected to be on sets by the second week of September. ‘Thatsamayam Penkutty’ will also feature five songs, set to music by Sharreth.

Mamas, the director of hit cinema ‘Pappy Appacha’ is all set to start his new movie titled as ‘Cinema company’ in a short while. Mamas will be telling a plot about the dreams and aspirations of the youth in this film which will be produced by Lakshadweep based businessman Fardeen Khan. Mamas will select seven new comers for the movie through various auditions. Jibu jacob will crank the camera while Alphonse Joseph will be the music director of Cinema Company.

He may have played a ‘desi’ character in his last two huge money spinners ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Wanted’. He may be playing to the gallery in ‘Ready’ as well. However for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, Salman Khan would be getting into a cool and stylish avtar as he steps into a film which is set at an international scale. Moreover for director Kabir Khan too, it would be a new outing as after making two back to back realistic, though highly enjoyable films – ‘New York’ and ‘Kabul Express’, he would be stepping into a commercial outing of a different kind by giving the film a flamboyant touch. “Yes, let me admit that ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is the most commercially accessible mainstream film of mine,” says Kabir who is making his third film with the production house of Yash Chopra, “It is not just the starcast but also the story which is larger than life. The subject demands that the story telling is flamboyant here. Every story demands it’s own style of narrative; same holds good for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ as well.”
One wonders though whether the film allows Kabir Khan to further explore his touch, something that has worked wonderfully well for his first two outings? Would the trappings of ‘masala entertainer’ rob him of his sheen?
“See, what happens is that there are two parts to making a film. One comes from what is inherent to you as a person and a director. Now that’s something that cannot change as there is certain craft which comes into play here,” explains Kabir, “On the other hand, as I said earlier, there is a certain demand of a narrative. If you can blend the two together well, nothing better than that. My endeavour is to do that only. I want my aesthetics to be intact. In case with every film of his, a director’s craft only becomes better. There is a natural growth and evolution. I believe the same has happened to me as well.”

Aarakshan is an upcoming Hindi film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone. Directed by Prakash Jha, who also directed Raajneeti, it is a high voltage socio-political drama based on one of the most controversial policies of caste based reservations in government jobs and educational institutions. Like the majority of Jha’s films, it takes on issues about the society and political affairs of India. Most of the shooting took place in Bhopal. The film also stars Prateik Babbar and Manoj Bajpai and is set to release on August 12, 2011.
Aarakshan is the story of Prabhakar Anand (Amitabh Bachchan), the legendary idealistic principal of a college that he has single-handedly turned into the state’s best. It is the story of his loyal disciple, Deepak Kumar (Saif Ali Khan) who will do anything for his Sir. Of Deepak’s love for Prabhakar’s daughter, Poorbi (Deepika Padukone), of his friendship with Sushant (Prateik). It is the story of their love, their lively friendship, their zest for life, and of their dreams for the future.
Centered on one of the most controversial issues of recent years, with the Supreme Court’s order on reservation, the story suddenly becomes a rollercoaster ride of high drama, conflict, and rebellion, which tests their love and friendship for one another, and their loyalty to Prabhakar Anand.
Amitabh also remarked that he was impressed with the discipline he saw on the film’s sets.
However, the 68-year-old actor, who plays a college principal in the movie, was wary of voicing his opinion on the issue dealt with in the film.
