Production: Ronnie Screwvala,Salman Khan Salman Khan Being Human Production’s ‘Chillar Party’ is a wonderful film directed by Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari. In line with the banner name, the film depicts how children are more in touch with their human side much more than the adults who consciously forget all the values that they learn in school to further their self interest.
A children’s film, Chillar Party is the story of the children of Chandan Nagar Society in Mumbai, a gang that is always together, whether they are playing cricket or playing pranks. Each of them has a unique nickname befitting his/her characteristics. They have enemies within the colony and outside. But their newest enemy is Bhidu, the street dog that belongs to Fatka who has been employed recently to wash the cars in the colony. Initial pranks lead to a friendship that makes Bhidu and Fatka an inseparable part of Chillar Party. The main plot begins when a local minister’s right hand is threatened by Bhidu when he shouts at Fatka. The minister decides to avenge the insult by eliminating street dogs from the road by launching ‘Fear free Mumbai’. The film goes on to show how with their intelligence and team work, the children try to save their friend ‘bhidu’, a street dog.
The casting could not have been better. Every child in the film is adorable and their performance is enthralling. The expressions, dialogues, dialogue delivery and dances are impeccable. The film has a lovely blend of humor and emotion that has you in splits of laughter and bring tears to your eyes within a few seconds. The performance of the adult actors supports the film very well. Aki Narula’s costumes give the film a realistic feel. Vijay Maurya’s screenplay is also well done.
